About the Client
Prabir Purkayastha is a Delhi-based fine artist whose work has been exhibited in India and internationally. Like most serious artists, his relationship with self-promotion is complicated — the work matters, the website is an obligation. What he needed was a digital presence that respected that position: visible enough to be found by collectors and curators, quiet enough to not distract from the paintings themselves.
The Project
We built a minimal, image-led portfolio that gets out of the way. No unnecessary navigation, no overlaid text, no design that competes with the work. The site is structured around the paintings — full-screen imagery, clean transitions, and as little interface as possible. The goal was to recreate, as closely as a website can, the experience of standing in front of the work in a gallery.
Impact
Collectors and curators who find Prabir's work through exhibitions or word of mouth now have a reliable place to see the full body of work and make contact. The site functions as a permanent, always-available studio visit.
